WBO places ‘Boots’ Ennis on #4 in 154 pounds rankings: a direct path to the WBO title

Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis was placed on the #4 place at 154 with his weight from 154. Ennis is allegedly taking two ballots to accommodate himself to the junior middleweight division.

Boots’ WBO #4 -Ranks

Choosing two of the fighters for Ennis’s next few battles would be ideal for preparing him to challenge Vergil Ortiz JR for his WBC 154-Pond title in 2026. Boots will have to fight against the contenders on this section, which is filled with punchers and highly competent technicians.

The new ranking has put the former IBF and WBA welterweight champion ‘Boots’ (34-0, 30 COs) in line to follow the WBO Junior Middleweight title that is fought between Xander Zayas and Jorge Garcia Perez this Saturday.

The Zayas promoters on Top Rank will not be satisfied with the news of the World Boxing Organization that Jaron Ennis puts on #4 on 154. Top rank is trying to convert the 22-year-old Xander into an East Coast Star in the New York area. They can’t do this if “Boots” on a collision course is to tear the WBO title from him if he captures it against Jorge Garcia on Saturday night. Ennis would be too much for one of these fighters.

The easiest belt for boots

The way “Boots” looked in his last fight and destroyed the WBA Welterweight Champion Eimantas Stanionis in six rounds on April 12, he would easily work from the Zayas winner against Garcia to tighten the WBO 154-Pond title.

The WBO is the easiest belt for boots to win because he will probably be avoided by WBC champion Sebastian Fundora. WBA champion Terence Crawford has not yet evacuated his title, despite moving up to 168 to challenge Canelo Alvarez for his four titles. The WBA -Tussentage champion Yoenis Tellez is increased to the full champion status.
