However, Georgia Redmayne steadied the innings with 25 off 29 and laid the foundation for the middle order to capitalise. The star of the chase was Jonassen, whose brilliant batting performance saw him score an unbeaten 39 off 29 balls, hitting 4 fours and a six.
Jemimah Rodrigues’ 39 off 22, laced with five fours and a six, while Laura Harris took 12 off 5, including a six, provided a vital boost to end the game in style. Brisbane Heat easily reached the goal in 17 shotsdisplays a dominant batting performance.
Despite the loss, Amelia Kerr and Caoimhe Bray excelled with the ball for the Sydney Sixers, taking two wickets each. Kerr’s crafty spin saw him take 2 for 30 in 4 overs and Bray 2 for 38. However, a lack of consistent improvement meant the Sixers were unable to protect their total.
