For the Stars, McKeon was a remarkable batsman, scoring a steady half-century. McKeon, who came on after Lanning’s early dismissal, played positively, hitting five boundaries and two sixes to keep the chase alive. With key players such as Sutherland and others, he received little support from his teammates Marizanne Kapp it goes cheap. McKeon’s resistance ended at 16, a turning point that signaled the Stars’ hopes were running out. His dismissal left the Stars at 95/7 and they struggled to reach the target, eventually being bowled out for 109.
Ainsworth’s all-round performance earned him the Player of the Match award. His bowling spell was crucial, picking up key wickets and keeping the run rate in check with an economy of 4.50.
