New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke caused a stir Indiabatting line-up in the first Test of the ongoing three-match Test series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

William O’Rourke’s impressive spell continues as Yashasvi Jaiswal falls to a stunning catch by Ajaz Patel in the 1st Test.
O’Rourke delivered the ball short and wide and Yashasvi Jaiswal saw it as an attacking opportunity. However, Ajaz Patel took a fantastic bounce to his left-hand side to end the young Indian’s innings on 13 runs off 63 balls, including 14. Jaiswal stood huddled in amazement and asked if the catch had been taken cleanly.
Well, Ajaz Patel bowled some excellent fielding and completed a low bounce to the left to secure New Zealand their fourth wicket in Bengaluru. Yashasvi Jaiswal was in excellent form with the bat but the prevailing conditions and desperation for runs cost him dearly.

KL Rahul also becomes William O’Rourke’s bunny
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team found themselves in serious danger as they lost their fifth wicket in the form of local boy KL Rahul, who fell victim to William O’Rourke. Rahul is caught for a duck by Tom Blundell. After facing just six balls, he shook his head as he walked off the pitch.
William O’Rourke, with both leg slips and short leg in place, followed up with a short length delivery down the leg side, slightly fuller than before. Looking to open his account, KL Rahul tried to connect with the ball, ignoring the two players nearby.
His initial shot took a narrow edge off New Zealand keeper Tom Blundell. The edge was audible, showcasing O’Rourke’s superb bowling of line and length. All India’s hopes now rest on Rishabh Pant and Ravichandran Ashwin and saving their pride.
Ravindra Jadeja surrenders to Matt Henry in Bengaluru
Azaz Patel took another brilliant catch as Matt Henry got rid of India’s Ravindra Jadeja for a duck in Bengaluru. Jadeja tried to play on the leg side, but the ball was caught on the off side as Team India trailed by 34/6 before the lunch break in the ongoing first Test in Bengaluru.
Notably, India’s 34 runs at the fall of the sixth wicket is the lowest at home since 1969. Their previous lowest score was 27 runs against New Zealand in Hyderabad. New Zealand are yet to win a Test series in India in 12 attempts. Their last Test match win in India was in 1988 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
