Notably, Dube has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh due to a back injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that Tilak Varma will replace the 2024 T20 World Cup winner for the T20I series.

Shivam Dube injured his back during training. The injury also ruled him out of Mumbai’s squad for the ongoing Irani Cup 2024.
However, the severity of the injury has not been fully disclosed but the team management has preferred to manage the situation with caution to avoid any complications keeping in mind the upcoming tour of South Africa.
The three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh will begin on Sunday, September 6 at the Gwalior International Cricket Stadium in Gwalior, followed by the second leg at the Arun Jaitley International Cricket Stadium in Delhi on October 9.
The third and final T20I between India and Bangladesh will be played on October 12 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. After the Bangladesh series, India will face New Zealand at home in a three-match Test series.
