A rain-shortened contest
Originally scheduled for 20 overs per side, the match was reduced to 10 overs each after the rain stopped. Despite the abbreviated format, both teams put up a thrilling show. In the first innings, North Delhi Strikers managed to post a competitive total of 100 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Quick cameos from the top and middle order helped the Strikers reach the 100-run mark, setting CDK a target of 101 runs.
In reply, Central Delhi Kings fought bravely but failed in their chase. They finished 10 for 91 for the loss of 7 wickets, falling short by just 9 runs. Despite some strong hitting in the middle overs, disciplined bowling by the Strikers ensured that they remained in control of the game.
Siddhartha Solanki Delivering a brilliant spell, he emerged as a standout player for North Delhi. He was instrumental in stifling Delhi Central’s run chase, taking 2 crucial wickets while conceding just 16 runs in his 2 overs. For winning the match, Solanki was rightly awarded the title of Player of the Match.
