On Saturday, March 21, a high-tension intrasquad match became the talking point. Sunrisers Hyderabadtemporary captain Ishan Kishi found himself at the center of an animated field exchange with his teammate Zeeshan Ansari. The incident, which quickly went viral on social media, added a dose of drama to SRH’s preparations for IPL 2026.
The moment came during a practice game, but it carried the energy of a competitive game and highlighted the team’s hunger for the new season.
Zeeshan Ansari responds after a costly
The flashpoint came in the eighth over of the SRH B innings. Kishan, next to him Liam Livingstonewas in devastating form and particularly liked Ansari’s bowling. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 20 runs and conceded many attacking shots, putting the spinner under pressure.
However, cricket often rewards persistence. Ansari responded in style by sacking Kisha soon after, turning the tide in his favour. What followed caught everyone’s attention.
In an unusual sight for an intra-team game, Ansari celebrated passionately and gestured towards the pavilion, urging Kisha to go. Eyiriji’s animated reaction showed that he had taken the earlier attack personally, opening the door to a statement moment.
Ishan Kishi’s lighthearted response attracts attention
Despite a fiery send-off and a brief exchange between the two, Kishan chose not to escalate the situation. Instead, he seemed amused by the incident, smiling and laughing as he returned to the shelter.
His reaction helped defuse potential tension by highlighting the camaraderie within the team. While social media speculated about possible friction in the camp, the interaction appeared to be nothing more than a competitive spirit dissipated in the heat of the moment.

In the practice game, the shots shine
Apart from the brief drama, the intra-squad match offered few positives for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both Kishan and Abhishek Sharma provided a timely boost ahead of the tournament by putting in some standout performances with the bat. Abhishek, who faced criticism for inconsistent form during the last T20 World Cup, played with renewed confidence. The left-hander has shown his ability to dominate bowlers at the top of the order, hitting 94 with a quick knock.
Kishan, meanwhile, looked on with a majestic touch. His explosive 72 from just 24 balls reflected his aggressive intent and willingness to lead from the front. His knock was a blend of powerful hitting and innovative batting which bodes well for SRH’s batting line-up.
