Placed in the middle of the contest, Tye pounced at exactly the right moment, extending his right hand to pluck the ball out of the air in a jaw-dropping display of athleticism and reflexes. He landed safely, caught the ball and rattled the Strikers at a critical juncture.
Weatherald, who managed 8 runs off 8 balls with a boundary, was yet another loss in a top-order collapse that saw big names like. Chris Lynn and Ollie Pope send it off cheaply. The forwards struggle, but the underclassmen respond
Batting first after losing the toss, the Adelaide Strikers struggled to build a partnership on a tough Adelaide Oval pitch. After early dismissals of Lynn (1 time 3), Pope (1 time 5) and Weatherald (8 time 8), D’Arcy Short (22 off 19) and Alex Ross (20 off 15) tried to stabilize Srikers’ batting with short but valuable contributions. However, their dismissal deepened the crisis as they found themselves at 58/8.
The bottom row headed by Brendan Doggett and Cameron Boycemonte recovery with a spirit. Primarily known for his bowling, Doggett hit 47 off 39 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes.
