Rory Mcilroy was a main character in Bethpage Black Last week, not only because he is Europe’s best player and a recent Grand Slam winner, but because he was also the main target of American fans’ Ruthless heckling.
Mcilroy and his wife, Erica, received constant – sometimes vulgar – Badgering by American fans in Ryder CupAnd Mcilroy’s matches required uniformed additional security. Sometimes he had to get out of the shooting, and in a small portion of the cases he snapped back to hecklers.
Sometimes, it was an ugly scene.
Sunday evening evening, after Europe held the American Sunday charge and won Ryder Cup, Mcilroy was asked if that kind of behavior of the fans was taking the game in a dangerous direction.
“I think golf should be kept to a higher standard than it was seen there this week,” he said. “Golf has the ability for you to unite people. Golf teaches you very good life lessons. This teaches you labels. This teaches you how to play with rules. This teaches you how to respect people. … It was a rough week for us all. But at the same time, we closed them out of our performance and how we played.
However, a former US Ryder Ryder Cup captain was not a fan of Mcilroy’s response.
By talking further Podcast Subpar of Golf At the end of the Ryder Cup Sunday, Paul Azinger, who led the American team to a Ryder Cup victory in Valhalla in 2008, said Mcilroy could not have both ways.
Azinger began complimenting Mcilroy for his role in meeting his team. He said when Mcilroy said for two years that winning a Ryder Road Cup is one of the most difficult things to do in Golf, which essentially took pressure from his other players, which allowed them to reach quiet Bethpage and with nothing to lose.

“I give Rory credit for this,” said Azinger, “but now I want to make a blow to Rory, which I love.”
Azinger said Mcilroy “probably rejected $ 500 million” to join Liv Golf and was a firm PGA Tour loyal, but he did not appreciate his thoughts on decorating by giving some of his actions.
“At the press conference after it is over, he is saying that I think golf should be held to a higher standard of decoration, but in the meantime he says ‘f you, f you’ fullly voice for the world to see,” Azinger said, referring to a special Mcilroy holiday in one of the voices. “He comes back and says to the boy,” Close F up. “The guy in the media asks him, How did this Rory feel, to tell him to close and then hit him on two legs? And he said, ‘I felt great.’
“And I’m like, who is, Rory? Is it what golf is kept to a higher standard or would you just go to you fans and act like this is okay?
In the hours since the end of the Ryder Cup, much has been said and written about the behavior of the fans and respond to him. But Azinger said no one should be surprised.
“Didn’t the American PGA know when they came here what would happen?” He said. “Of course, we all knew. We’ve all talked about it for 10 years, because this crowd could go crazy. Hey if beers were not $ 16 per part, it could be worse.”
The Americans were blown up the first two days, as Europe captured a 11.5-4.5 command and the teams and the teams split a half because of Victor Hovland’s WD only needed two points on Sunday to hold the cup. But the Americans fought back to Sunday bachelors and lost only 15-13. Europe was the first time it won on the road in more than a decade.
“I don’t know what happened in the European team room, but they almost let him leave,” Azinger said. “But they did the massacres the first two days. It was a tough pill to swallow. There was a time when I thought it would be just the most devastating loss and the PGA of America would have to restructure everything. And it turned out not to be that way.
