Fabio Wardley says he is not interested in giving Justis Huni a rematch after he stopped him in what some fans apparently had a premature, referee-backed 10th round last Saturday night in Portman Road Football Ground, Ipswich, England.
After the fight, Wardley, 30, says he will do his compulsory title shot. Fabio has won the WBA -Tussentage heavyweight title with his victory against Huni, and he now wants a title shot.
USYK/Dubois fighting confusion
“I will be 100% pressure on my compulsory,” Wardley says of the direction he wants to go next after his victory over Huni.
Wardley believe wrong That he is now compulsory for the WBA ‘Super’ title held by Oleksandr Ulsyk, which means he would fight the winner of next month’s undisputed Championship Rematch between IBF champion Daniel Dubois and WBA, WBC and WBO champion USKy. That’s not how it works.
It is reported that the WBA’s order is that Wardley Kubrat Pulev challenge for his WBA ‘ordinary’ title next. Pulev (32-3, 14 COs) is currently scheduled to defend against Michael Hunter on August 3. So Wardley can’t chase the USyk Dubois winner directly in a profitable payday for him, possibly in the millions.
Unless Wardley’s promoter can convince the World Boxing Association to change their previous order that Fabio Fight Pulev for his ‘ordinary’ WBA title, he has no choice. Take it or leave it.
Even as old as 43-year-old Pulev, he has the skills of a long pro and amateur career to beat Wardley. He does not fight foolishly like Huni by trading in unnecessary exchanges. Pulev has an excellent stitch that is like a power punch, and he will just put Wardley into pieces and reform his fragile nose.
Fabio’s chances of beating one of the two are slim, given how weak he looked against Huni. At this point, Dave Allen would be difficult for Wardley. His level is Joe Joyce and Derek Chisora. That’s who Wardley should fight next if he stubbornly refuses not to take the fight with the Pulev against Hunter winner.
Wardley rejects Huni Rematch
“It wouldn’t be beneficial,” Wardley said ifl tv When asked if he would be interested in a re -broadcast with Huni. “What? I am about to the point in my career where I choose fights to move strategically to a goal. The goal is a world title. It wasn’t the best performance, I lost a few rounds, but I won. So, I’m the next one. ‘
Wardley’s true skill level
You can’t blame Wardley that he didn’t want to give it back with Huni because he took a career’s punishment against him. He would probably lose the re -broadcast, and his career, as it is, would be in the trash. Who is trying Wardley child? We saw his level against Huni. He works at the domestic tomato of Dave Allen and Johnny Fisher. He does not belong in the ring with talents such as Ulsyk and Dubois.
It is detrimental to the sport To have fewer fighters like Wardley compete against fighters on championships, especially on pay-pervention. It hurts the sport, which makes fans angry, who feels ripped off when the fight is a mismatch. It would be if Wardley fought one of the guys. Wardley’s promoter should place him with 41-year-old Chisora if he refuses to fight the Pulev-Hunter winner.
“When he gets up again, you know how I am when I injured someone. There is no way he survived the rest of the round. He didn’t get away with it, ‘says Wardley, talking about the controversial stop in which the referee stopped the fight prematurely despite Huni who hit the spade. “Save him for another day. He is still a big fighter. He is still a young boy. ‘
