Virat Kohli’s ‘bail swap’ ploy fails in Adelaide Test

Indian National Cricket Team striker Virat Kohli has been making headlines since his arrival in Australia. He did not go with the bat in the ongoing second Test at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, starting on Friday (December 6).

Virat Kohli didn’t get going with the bat, but he made sure he was active on the field from the get-go. From the moment he came out for the second innings, he hit a major and was seen lifting his players.

Virat Kohli even made sure he was within earshot of the Australian players and he spotted the players skiing. The main batsman was seen supporting and pumping up the Indian pacers as the opposition batsmen were all over the bowlers.

Not only this, Virat Kohli also came up with Stuart Broad’s wicket-swapping trick as the players of the Indian National Cricket Team struggled to take wickets. Before the start of the 31st over where Bumrah was about to attack, Virat Kohli changed the bails to change the team’s fortunes. But the trick didn’t work.

Virat Kohli fails with the bat in the first innings, 7 runs from 8 balls

Virat Kohli had a bad day with the bat in Adelaide, a happy hunting ground for him. After scoring a century in the last game, he was expected to put up a similar effort in the next game and help his team win the second game as well.

But it was not to be as Virat Kohli returned to the hut early. The batsman managed just 7 runs off 8 balls and hit one boundary in his innings before being dismissed by Mitchell Starc, the 15th in Tests.

All in all, it was not a great day for the Indian National Cricket Team as they lead the series 1-0. They went all out for 180 runs as no batter could cross the 50-run mark. Nitish Kumar Reddy was the top run scorer with 42 runs and led the team to a struggling total.

Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne put Australia in a strong position in the first innings

After India added 180 runs, they were expected to trouble the Australian batsmen with the ball. However, it was not so. Nathan McSweeney (38*) and Marnus Labuschagne (20*) batted brilliantly and put pressure on the bowlers.

Australia added an unbeaten 62 runs for the second wicket as they finished the first day by 86 runs, 94 runs behind. India will be looking to turn things around tomorrow and get back into the game.
