Indian National Cricket Team batsman Virat Kohli grabbed the headlines on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Virat Kohli was the center of attraction on Day 2 of the ongoing Test against Bangladesh. He was extremely energetic on the field and was seen in a happy mood while batting afterwards and was seen chatting quite a bit with the opposing team as well.
He was seen having light conversations with Kohli Shakib Al Hashe laughingly asked him if he had become Lasith Malinga because he was dealing with yorkers. While that got a lot of attention, he came up with another epic stump mic moment.
While Kohli was batting, Mehidy Hasan teased the Indian batsman Miraz and told him to hit a six. But the Indian National Cricket Team’s response left many in splits. The right-hander told him that he should not ask him to hit sixes while batting to all-rounder Nahid Rana.
Virat Kohli was heard saying, “Khud ne toh nahid to strike de diya, ab keh ra sikh maro.”

At that time, Virat Kohli was batting at 7 off 15 balls and had a firm eye on the crease. The right-hander played some sharp shots in his innings after that and with his batting, he looked like he would end up with a big score.
Virat Kohli scores 17 runs in the second innings
But it was not to be, as Kohli perished again after starting with the bat. The batsman scored 17 runs off 37 balls and also hit two boundaries in his innings. But he would be disappointed with the path he took.
Kohli was trapped lbw by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, but he would not have been out had he chosen to take DRS. After going back, the ultra edged showed a bounce which disappointed the entire Indian dressing room.
Even though Kohli didn’t have a great outing with the bat, he continued to reach big milestones. He became the second player after Sachin Tendulkar of the Indian National Cricket Team to score 12,000 runs on home soil.
Virat Kohli achieved this feat in his 219th game with the team in India. The runs came at an average of 58.84 to go with 38 hundreds and 59 fifties. On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar amassed 14,192 runs at an average of 50.32 from 258 matches for India to go with 42 centuries and 70 fifties.
Kohli, who scored 6 and 17 in the first Test against Bangladesh, would be hoping for a better performance with the bat in the second Test. He would be extremely important for the team moving forward with 9 more Tests around the corner.
