A Korn Ferry Tour Pro and his game partner were disqualified from this week’s Memorial Health Championship in Springfield, Ill. For violating regulation 10.2a, which prohibits players from sharing or providing advice. This involves touching another player’s equipment to learn information that would be tips if given or required by the other player; Giving advice to anyone in the competition that is playing on the course; and asking anyone else other than your caddy.
Brentley Romine of Golf Channel took full story. According to Romine, 25-year-old Pro Cole Cole Hammer was playing with 34-year-old Nelson Ledesma on Thursday when, in the 17th holes Panther Creek Country ClubHammer hit a 4-time. As he returned to his bag, Hammer told Romine that Ledesma’s caddy, Nico Torres, held four fingers in Hammer.
“From the instinct, I also sparked” 4 “,” Hammer Golf Channel told Hammer Golf Channel. “It was a heat of the moment and I didn’t think much about it until the round.”
But Hammer was unresolved by the interaction and other benefits were achieved for their contribution after the round that evening. While many were told that interaction was a common phenomenon in the tournament and not to worry about it, Hammer was not convinced.
“I feel like I know the rules really well, and I have always tried to support them to the maximum of my ability,” Hammer Golf Channel told. “I just didn’t sit with me last night, and when I woke up this morning, I felt forced to go to talk to the official rules and tell him what had happened.”
After explaining the incident at the Corn Ferry official rules Claudio Rivas, Hammer was told a decision would come.
“I didn’t think they would be disqualified,” Hammer told Ledesma. “I just thought that when I was the one who gave the sign that I would be disqualified. And I thought it was the worst case scenario.”

In the middle of the second round, the decision was transmitted. Both Hammer and Ledesma were disqualified because they had already signed their results from Round 1. If it were not, the sentence would have been two strokes.
The incident scored the first DQ for Hammer, who had an amateur stellar career before returning in 2022.
“I feel much better now that at least I got it out of my chest because it was weighing me down,” Hammer said. “Jew is just unfortunate to be a small storm around the tournament.
“It’s a learning experience and I think I’m in a better head space calling for it myself,” he continued. “I’m not at all desperate about the result or nervous about the other extension. If anything, I can play with a clean tile and a clear consciousness and I hope to continue the game I had in Wichita.
“There are a lot of events left, and I felt like doing the right thing and protecting the game would be better for me in the long run.”
According to a translated response to Golf Channel, Leddy’s Caddy was “shocked” by DQ.
“The decision made is the correct one, according to the rules,” Ledesma said. “I can’t do a lot with her except to admit it.”
This is not the first time that the sharing of the tips has been reviewed in the tournament. In the 2023 masters, Brooks Koepka and his caddy seemed to share the fact that Koepka struck a 5-Herkuri to play partner Gary Woodland and his kadi.
