Vinod Kambli breaks his silence on health struggles by thanking his wife Andrea and friend Sachin Tendulkar

Kambli said that he owes his wife, now he feels better Andrea Hewitt for unwavering support. She took her husband to three hospitals, urging him to prioritize his health. His son, Jesus Christhelped him when he fell and his daughter Yohanna was with him all the way. The doctor advised him to sleep for treatment.

“I’m better now. My wife takes care of me a lot. He took me to three different hospitals and told me, ‘You need to get in shape.’ My son picked me up when I fell and my daughter and wife stood by me all day. The doctor said to be accepted” Kambli said in an interview with Vicky Lalwani on YouTube.

Kambli stated that she is ready to go to rehab, saying that she has no fear and feels supported by her family. “I’m ready to go to rehab. I want to go there because I’m not afraid of anything. My family is with me” he added.

Reflecting on Kambli’s lifelong friendship with Sachin Tendulkar

Kambli admitted in 2009 that he felt frustrated thinking about his childhood friend Sachin, believing that Sachin did not support him during his struggles. But he later realized his frustration was misplaced and acknowledged Sachin’s significant support, including financing two of his surgeries in 2013. Their conversation helped rekindle their cherished childhood friendship.

“Then it occurred to me that Sachin didn’t help. I am extremely disappointed. But Sachin did everything for me, including paying for my two surgeries in 2013. We talked and a childhood friendship was born.” the left-hander concluded the innings.

The pair’s bond forged during their school days has long been celebrated in cricket folklore. Together, they made history with their extraordinary partnership of 664 runs in a school match, a record that still resonates in the cricketing world.
