Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior issued a strong and defiant response after being named FIFA Men’s Player of the Year on Tuesday night, following an outstanding 2024.
Vini was snubbed for the Ballon d’Or in October, losing out to Manchester City and Spanish midfielder Rodri, resulting in a club-wide boycott of the ceremony by Real Madrid.
The Brazilian, who has been subjected to rough treatment from defenders as well as despicable racist abuse from opposition fans over the years, took it as yet another hurdle he has had to overcome in his journey to being labeled as the best player in the world.
FIFA ceremony it was held in Qatar to coincide with the first FIFA Intercontinental Cup. Vini promised his future at Real Madrid during an acceptance speech on stageeffectively putting an end to lingering transfer speculation over the Saudi Pro League, before posting it on social media as well.
