Who are the Top 10 heavyweights competing in the world today?
IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois made the first defense of his title when he destroyed Anthony Joshua on September 21. Right out of the gate, Dubois looked sharp and composed, and he dominated the action from start to finish, dropping Joshua four times along the way, the last of which earned him the impressive and dramatic knockout victory. This upset win shook up the heavyweight landscape, where Joshua was widely considered a Top 3 heavyweight in that one. However, this is no longer the case.
Right now, the reigning heavyweight king is Oleksandr Usyk. In his most recent fight back in May, Usyk was awarded a 12-round split decision against Tyson Fury. That victory earned Usyk the undisputed world heavyweight championship, with Usyk becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion since the great Lennox Lewis last achieved that distinction nearly a quarter of a century earlier. A little over a month after winning the undisputed crown, Usyk vacated the IBF title, which now belongs to former Usyk victim Dubois.
Usyk is still the reigning unified WBA/WBO/WBC and lineal world heavyweight champion, and his next fight is scheduled for December 21st, and that fight will be streamed on DAZN.

2024 was shaping up to be a great year for heavyweight boxing, one of the better years in a long time. More top heavyweights are constantly facing other top heavyweights, and that’s a good thing for the heavyweight division. Turki Al-Sheikh deserves a lot of the credit here, as his interest in boxing helped bring about many fights that we might not have seen otherwise, and this was especially true in the heavyweight division. Hopefully Turki continues to invest in heavyweight boxing (and boxing in general) where fans will be given the opportunity to see more interesting fights that are in high demand.
