Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard ‘The Executioner’ Hopkins were both the first ballot of Famers, and they are both rightly regarded as two of the greatest ever going on. But strangely enough, none of their two fights against each other were particularly memorable.
For whatever reason, this particular collision of styles did not produce much in terms of pleasant action. No fight was a classic. On the contrary, both are considered quite dull matters, which are largely missing from action and drama. Nevertheless, these two battles both have a historical interest.

Jones had an unorthodox approach, but he was such a highest operator that, in collaboration with all his elite characteristics, he made it all work well. Roy won championships at middleweight, super middle, light heavyweight and also heavyweight. When Jones was at his best at his peak, he was almost universally recognized as the largest pound for pound boxer in the world.
Hopkins may never have been considered the best of the best, and certainly never for a game as long as Roy’s, but Hopkins made up for it by having a much longer career than an elite prize fighter. Hopkins was a modern careless fighter in the form of Archie Moore, the old Mongoose himself. Hopkins won championships on middleweight and lightweight, and he is both the oldest boxer who ever won a major world championship at the age of 48, and also the oldest who had a unification at the age of 49.
Their first fight took place in May 1993, and Roy won a unanimous decision in that one. All three judges scored their first battle 116-112 in favor of Jones. Surprisingly, their re -broadcast took place almost 17 full years later in April 2010. This time, Hopkins received a unanimous decision, where one judge scored it 118-109 and the other both both had 117-110. Unfortunately, negotiations for a rematch of Jones-Hopkins fell apart in 2002. It was the period that was almost halfway between the two fights they had. At that time in 2002, Jones and Hopkins were universally recognized as the two biggest pounds for pound boxers in the world, and it is a shame that they could not agree on conditions, because it would probably have had a better struggle than one of the two battles they had against each other.
