Video of David Coote’s tirade at Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp

Video footage has emerged of Premier League referee David Coote appearing to say he believes Liverpool played ‘crap’ in a game he was involved in and former Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is a “s**t”.

Watch below as a video clip shows Coote sitting and being filmed by a second unidentified person, with the match official blasting Klopp as “arrogant” and saying he tries not to speak to the German tactician.

When asked about his thoughts on Klopp, he didn’t hold back and said: “C**t, absolute c**t. Apart from having a good crack at me when he was talking against Burnley in the closing stages , he accused me of lying and then he just fucked me. I have no interest in talking to someone as arrogant. I do my best not to talk to him. Fuck me.”

The person next to him added: “Long story short, Jurgen Klopp’s act, Liverpool are all f*cks and we hate Scousers.”

While the full context of this video isn’t necessarily that clear, as Coote could have been joking or exaggerating in some way, it doesn’t look good for the referee as he’s someone who’s supposed to be impartial given the nature of their work…

David Coote could be in trouble for Liverpool video

Coote was most recently in charge of Liverpool’s win over Aston Villa at the weekend, but it’s hard to imagine he’ll get the chance to officiate any more Reds games anytime soon if this clip above is really what it sounds like .

The 42-year-old took charge of his first Premier League game in 2018 and has taken charge of many big games, including Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final in 2023.

Referees are often in the spotlight over any small decision that seems questionable, as fans will always feel that their team is struggling.

Coote hasn’t had too many notable controversies, and there’s certainly no evidence that he’s shown bias against Liverpool in any of their games.

However, these pictures surely show he is not a huge fan of the Merseyside club or their former manager Klopp, although he admits he has no problem with former player James Milner.

It’s not clear when this video was taken, but there are some references to social distancing that suggest it may have been a few years ago when there were still measures in place for the UK’s Covid-19 pandemic.

In a second clip, as seen above, Coote addresses the camera to insist that this clip must not be released, suggesting he is aware of how serious the consequences could be for him.

Even so, Klopp will have had his fair share of run-ins with various referees during his stay in England, as is basically the case with all managers.
