Jake Paul’s entire journey in professional box is quite bizarre in itself. His most recent battle was a prime example, where Paul was back in November against the 58 -year -old former world champion for heavyweight Iron Mike Tyson. Paul was more than 30 years younger than Tyson, and Paul won the battle with 8 round unanimous decision. Most of Paul’s opponents have so far been against beginners who made their debut, guys with 0-1 records, and many MMA fighters and the kind. Paul usually has the benefit in size, experience, or youth – sometimes all three. The situation with Chavez jr is no different.
Chavez is technically the most experienced professional boxer Paul has faced so far. Chavez is 54-6-1 in his pro career, and his best fighting days were at the middleweight more than a dozen years ago. Chavez only fought once and a half years and won a unanimous 6 round decision against Uriah Hall. At 39 years old, Chavez is nearly 20 years younger than Iron Mike, so Chavez is only approaching 40 as opposed to 60 like Iron Mike. But Paul has been over ten years older, over the past year much less active, and will fight far above his primary fighting weight.
So who will win the upcoming battle between Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.?
