On transfer deadline day it was finally confirmed that Scott McTominay had left Man United and signed for Italian giants Napoli.
The 27-year-old had been rumored to be leaving the club for some time, but the rumors turned out to be just that.
However, the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), which mean that a club’s academy products can be counted as ‘pure profit’ on the balance sheet if they are sold, appear to be the reason for the McTominay’s departure this summer.
That’s certainly the impression Erik ten Hag got during his Liverpool pre-match press conference, and he clearly wasn’t happy.
“It’s Man Utd in every way.” ?
