Victor Osimhen transfer links and more

It was a special night for Arsenal in Eindhoven on Tuesday.

No one would have planned a score like this before the game, as Mikel Arteta’s problems have been struggling in attack in recent weeks.

But the arsenal was exceptional. They started PSV in Shreds and, in fact, the scoreboard could have been even greater than it was.

You could see encouraging signs in the game against Forest, but nothing to suggest something.

It was really encouraging because the performance showed that the players now face what they need to do in the absence of the main attackers of the squad.

It was very clear that Arsenal sought to incorporate more players in the penalty area on Tuesday night than they were late. The surroundings were constantly in the box of 18 gardens, as were Rice and Martin Odegaard.

I counted seven players from Arsenal in the penalty area when they swear Timber scored and there were six when Ethan Nwaneri scored. They denied the area of penalty and PSV could not do it.

I thought Martin Odegaard was excellentEspecially in the second half, but they declined Rice and Jurrien Timber were exceptional, as well as Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri.

A victory like this has to give confidence to the team. It shows that they can score goals even with the missing players and wait for them to send them to the Sunday game at Old Trafford full of optimism.

It’s too late in terms of the title. This boat has sailed, but we hope that the Arsenal will be able to finish the season strongly and give a chance to the Champions League.

We are still waiting for confirmation on who will be the next arsenal sports director It is understood that Andrea Berta is on top of the list Of the remaining candidates.

I understand that an official offer should not yet be made in Berta, or anyone else, but Arsenal wants their favorite choice to be imminently with the club well aware of the importance of the next summer window.

Currently, all signs point out that the replacement of Edu is the 53 -year -old Italian, but until an appointment is made, it is impossible to say with all the certainty who will be.

Berta looks like a good choice for arsenal, however. He makes a lot of boxes in terms of what the club needs right now.

He has a lot of experience and has done a great job during his time in Atlético.

Berta’s career when it comes to transfers is quite strong. Yes, there have been treatment that has not worked completely, but this will always happen. Whenever you get more success than the lack of the market, your record will be achieved well and your record does exactly.

He has made a lot of great money offers and has worked with major clubs in the world, so his contacts list will be strong. It will have the respect of all the ones you have to treat and this is very important.

Jason Ayto, who has been working as a sports director of Arsenal on a temporary role since Edu’s departure, is well thought out in the club and is on the final list of the permanent position.

But my great concern with him is his lack of experience in the field. She feels a little too early to get the highest job in a club like Arsenal. I have always had my concerns about the ease that will be for him to get great offers for the line. He would not have this concern with someone like Berta, who has been there and has done so several times over the years and is a well -known face through European football.

Berta also had the experience of working with a very demanding manager in Diego Simeone.

It cannot be easy for anyone to work with someone like Simeone, but Berta seems to have managed him expertly and in case he achieved this Arsenal job, which is well involved in his potential relationship with Mike Arteta.

Like Simeone, Arteta has a very specific way of playing and the players identified by a sports director must be able to do so. It is also known to be a demanding character.

So the sports director of the club must have a strong personality. It must be someone who can have a good relationship with Arteta, but it must also be able to defend and challenge when needed.

You could think that Berta’s time next to Simeone in Atlético will have left it well equipped to do so.

I am always a little skeptical when I listen to the links between Victor Osimhen and Arsenal.

A few years ago there was some interest, but since then I have not heard anything to suggest that the constant speculations linked by the Nigerian striker with a transfer to northern London have a lot of merit.

He is a higher striker, there is no doubt about this, but Arsenal has others who are far ahead of his list of potential summer goals, if he is even on his target list.

We know that Mikel Arteta would like to sign Alexander Isak, but I only struggle to see how realistic this summer.

I do not see a way that Newcastle let him go for a price that Arsenal could affect realistically. Benjamin Sesko still feels like the most likely option for me when it comes to the Arsenal to sign a number 9.

There is still the interest they had in Sesko last summer. His decision to stay with Leipzig one more season did not burn bridges with the arsenal and the money that would take to remove it from Germany means that it is a much more realistic option than Isak.

I am not mistaken. If it were a direct option between the two and the money it was not a factor, of course, would be Isak throughout the day. But unfortunately, football does not work like this.

Newcastle is in an incredibly strong position with Isak. They do not need to sell for financial reasons and still have a long -term contract.

Although they are lost in Europe next season, I struggle to see that they agree to let go of their precious active.

That is why I still see Sesko right now as the most realistic option for Arsenal. It may not yet be the finished article, such as an Isak or an Osimhen, but its potential is there to see.

I would not be surprised that we see a great sale in Arsenal this summer.

There will be many outings, but for “great sale” I mean one of the first team players who have been key under Mikel Arteta for the last two seasons.

It has been suggested that one from Leandro Trosard or Gabriel Martinelli could be let go to help increase summer funds and would say that Punge would be more likely of the two, in case a good offer came.

There is an interest in the attack of Saudi Arabia. Arsenal rejected an offer that arrived at the end of last summer, but could be open to a sale this summer, depending on how the conversations have passed a new contract.

Trossard has only one year left in his agreement at the end of the season and if an agreement has not been reached an extension, it could be that the arsenal would let go, in case a good offer came in.

The attacker will be 31 years in December, so you could think that a offer of anything between 15 million pounds and £ 20 million would be reasonable, given their contract situation.

Martinelli is a different situation. He is still 23 years old and has two years in his current agreement, with an option of twelve months later.

So the Arsenal is in a strong position with it and they would need a great offer for them to consider leaving it, which is probably around the mark of £ 70 million in the current market.

Martinelli may not have had the best of moments of things for the last two seasons, but it is still an excellent player.

I think he has been the victim of the restless nature on the left side of the Arsenal for the past two years. He has been constantly playing with different left -wing left and different players operating closer to the role of the eight left.

So I don’t think this helped him at all when trying to replicate the way we saw him produce during the 2022/23 season.

But it still has a lot to give, and even if the arsenal still has a big one on another left side option this summer, which could be the case, I think Martinelli has a large part to play the squad.
