Suryakumar Yadav’s Indian National Cricket Team locked horns with Jos Buttler’s England National Cricket Team in the second T20I match row At Ma Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai on Saturday 25th January.
Suryakumar Yadav’s team took a 2-0 lead in the third match in Rajkot in a nail-biting encounter after taking a 2-0 lead in England.
India won a thriller against Jos Buttler’s team
The men in blue decided to bat first in the match after winning the toss. They restricted the Three Lions to 165/9, a good batting surface.
Akhar Patel and varun chakravarthy bagged two wickets each Arshdeep SinghHardik Pandya, Washington Sundar and Abhishek Sharma each took a wicket.
India did not look comfortable during the Run-Chase and the match went down to the wire. The young batting sensation stood at one end of tilak varma and played an exceptional knock of 72* runs.
He saw his partners depart regularly but remained calm and ensured that India crossed the finish line. Tilak smashed four to end the match in the 20th.
“We felt that 160 years was good, we sat well” – Suryakumar Yadav
Speaking at the presentation ceremony after the match, Suryakumar Yadav said that he was satisfied with the performance of the Indian bowler. Suryakumar Yadav said:
“Definitely 160 was good, we bowled really well, we bowled in a good way. We bowled with an extra batter that could have given us a few overs.”
Suryakumar Yadav added that they play attacking cricket but sometimes they have to adapt to the situation. He was also richly praised by Tilak Varma for his heroism. He said:
“We play an aggressive brand of cricket, but as the situation calls for, he fists his hands.
Suryakumar Yadav also spoke about the crucial contributions of Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh with the bat. He said:
“(In Bishnoi), he is sinking a lot in the nets, he wants to contribute, not forgetting Arshdeep. The atmosphere has been really good. We know what we want to do. If we are all on the same page, good things will happen.”
How India performed in Kolkata 1st T20I vs England
India produced an impressive all-round performance to secure a dominant 7-Wicket victory in the 1st T20I at the Eden Gardens. Chasing a modest target of 133, India cruised to a 43-ball win thanks to explosive opener Abhishek Sharma’s heroics.
Electing to toss and bowl, India struck early as they dismissed Arshdeep Singh, Phar Duz and Ben Duckett in the first three overs. Varun Chakravarthy was the star with the ball, taking 3/23, including the key wickets of Jos Buttler (68) and Liam Livingstone.
Budler fought a single battle with brilliant batting, but the rest of England’s innings faltered against India’s disciplined attack. Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya also chipped in with two wickets each as England managed just 132 runs in 20 overs.
In the chase, India suffered a minor hiccup when Jofra Archer Sanku Samson (26) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) removed Suryakumar Yadav (0) in quick succession. But Abhishek Sharma played a stunning knock, hitting 79 off 34 balls, including eight sixes and five fours. Also, Tilak varma (19*) provided steady support as India completed their run in just 12.5 overs.
