Vergil Ortiz Jr. father, Vergil Sr., refuts what match room promoter Eddie Hearn says he signed “Jaron Ennis to fight for Vergil Ortiz” in 2026.

Vergil Jr’s father posted on X less than an hour ago that he didn’t have it “Heard something.”

Why on earth would Hearn tell the media that he ortiz jr. To fight his husband, ‘Boots’ Ennis, for 2026? Is it to get the pressure from himself to show boots that he is trying to do something to be helpful? To tell the media that a fight with Vergil jr. Signed for next year, is one way to get the heat off.

Ennis would think naive to himself: ‘My promoter, Hearn, is a real stuff. I’m glad I stopped for another hook with the match room again. ‘

Does Ennis even want the fight? With the talk that he wants two tune-ups to get comfortable with the 154-pound division, it doesn’t seem credible that he would sign for a risky fight against Vergil Jr.

No one came to us a third time for the fight. We are still about 2025 not 2026 or 2027. As they did what is best for them. We continue with our schedule, regardless of who says.
