It’s safe to assume that Vanderbilt University will attract more attention from top high school players across the country in the coming years.
Why? Because the Nashville school now features arguably the largest golf facility in all of college golf.
On Monday, the Commodores unveiled their renovated Vanderbilt golf home at the Vanderbilt Legends Club via a social media teaser video that’s making golfers everywhere envious.

While the House of Golf and nearby short game facility date back to 2013, they recently went through a massive $11 million renovation.
The new-look facility was increased in size by two-thirds and now features luxurious country club-style dressing rooms, lounges and patios, as well as a state-of-the-art gym and training facility.
It also has a beautiful Hall of Fame dedicated to the greatest professional players to come through the Vanderbilt program. Star alums include PGA Tour pros Brandt Snedeker and Luke List, as well as LPGA pros Marina Alex and Austin Kim.
In fact Snedeker, a nine-time PGA Tour winner, was among a small group that donated funds to carry out the renovations.

While the list of Vanderbilt golf alums is impressive, the school’s current star may one day become its greatest alumnus: Gordon Sargent. Sargent was the NCAA individual champion in 2022, his freshman year. He won the Brand. H McCormack Medal in 2023 as the world’s top-ranked amateur golfer, a title he still holds.
He has played in two US Opens, one Open Championship and one Masters after receiving a special invitation in 2023.
In 2024, Sargent became the first player to earn his PGA Tour card through the university PGA Tour, a new system adopted in 2020 to create pathways for college players to Korn Ferry and the PGA Tours.
But in April Sargent announced that he would postpone his Tour card in favor of staying at Vanderbilt for the 2024-25 season. It’s unclear how much Vanderbilt Golf’s epic renovated home factored into his decision.
