Separate training time for the 3rd round
Your special time? There are several contenders for the honor.
Here’s your final set, of course. At 1:55 pm ET leader Im Sungjae AND David Lipsky run away And they follow Doug Pin and Chandler Blanchet, who start at 1:45.
But the nod here might have to go to the 1:15 grouping. There you will find Brandt Snedekerwhich is five back at the top, and Gary Woodlandwhich is four off the pace. They are a couple of vets. There are some good stories.
We’ll start with Sneds. He is the captain of this year’s US Presidents Cup team and a nine-time PGA Tour winner – but has been without a title since 2018. Injuries have slowed him down. But he is back. A strong performance this week would be encouraging.
“It’s nice to show my son and the kids that I can do this every now and then,” the 45-year-old said. “But that being said, good golf after two rounds is a completely different thing than good golf after four. So we’ve got two more rounds to prove it, so I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
Then there is Woodland. He’s another one of golf’s good guys, and he’s the winner of the 2019 US Open. But a brain lesion required surgery, and last week, he revealed he’s struggling with PTSD because of what he’s endured.
However, his golf form this week has him excited.
“It has come,” Woodland said. “I’ve been hitting it well on the range, our practice sessions have been really good. It just hasn’t translated to the golf course.”
