Ruben Amorim acknowledged that Manchester United fans have the right to feel frustrated by some of the negative tactics shown at the beginning of Sunday 1-1 with Arsenal.
The United was surpassed in the first half, but managed to enter the interval by 1-0 thanks to a free foul by Bruno Fernandes, who helped soothe frustrations to Old Trafford. Fans maintained an anti-sting protest before the starting shot and only satisfied when United came up for the second half to bring the game to Arsenal.
“When you train Manchester UnitedYou can’t play much like this, “Amorim confessed after the final whistle”. But the idea is to win the game, not just to show something to the fans.
“We have tried to imagine a way to win the game in this context. I know it is frustrating as a fan. Sometimes we have to do things that are not popular. In the end, we need the points.
“I think this club will never die, of course. You feel it in the streets, not only at the stadium. This is a big business, and maybe all league fans feel more difficult to go to the game and pay for tickets. At the Premier League we receive a lot of money and they have to go.
“It’s a difficult situation, so we want to make them a lot of effort. In the future we are not going to play like that.”
United Blog was not a popular view, but Amorim urged fans to accept the reality of dealing with a team like Arsenal in the current state of the red devils.
“He is also the opponent,” he continued. “The last game before the Champions League was a high pressure of PSV, the man to the man, and they are more difficult to score this way.
“In the low blog we can better control the game this way. And we have good transition players. I think (Alejandro) Garnacho played a very good game. Today it was amazing.
“We tried to choose the best moments to press. We had a chance to win the game today.”
