USA General Director Mike Whan has a lot on his plate as he watches to help the shepherd of golf game – at the pros and cons and amateur levels – in a place where he can flourish for future generations.

But the change in golf rules is not in the WAN radar. As he explained in the latest episode of the golf podcast, while once taking the rules exam, and his result is the USA legend item – but not in a good way.
“They didn’t hire me for making my rules or my ability to edit the rules,” Wan said. “One of the things I take pride in is that I know what I am good about and I know what I am not. I trust the team more than the team trusts me.”
When Wan was hired as USA CEO, he decided to go to the rules school as he was the first qualified non-regulating CEO. After sitting in the three-day course, a member of his team suggested it would be good to take the exam in the end.
“So I didn’t have a book of rules,” said Wan. “I went inside and I did the test and the good news is that I think I currently keep the lowest score recorded in a rules test. They are supposed to be confidential, but a few years later they asked me to go down and welcome a new group. I have walked late and heard them say,” Don’t worry. No matter how you over the next three days, you will not score worse than CEO Mike Whan. “So I’m not your son for questions about the rules.”
