Stadium Arthur ase is undergoing a large makeover.
Grand Slam stadium in the sport will be renewed as part of a $ 800 million project that will transform US open landscape, Usta reported today.
USTA says the $ 800 million self-financed project will include a new training center for the best players.
The transformation will take place over three stages and will end from 2027 US Open, “without interrupting the play or access of the fan for events 2025-26,” said Usta.
“US Open is the highlight of sports and entertainment, with the greatest athletes and fans in the whole sport, and this reimagination of Arthur Ase Stadium and building a higher player performance center will improve experience Lew Sherr, CEO and Executive Director, Usta. “This project enables us to maintain the largest phase in tennis – Arthur Ashe Stadium – which was built more than 25 years ago, and modernize it in a way that will set it for the next 25 years.
“He also offers us the opportunity to give the players competing in that stadium an unprecedented space that will enable them to perform to their maximum and enjoy a higher level of luxury and comfort while they are out of court,” the hassle added. “US Open helps us offer our mission – the growing tennis to build people and healthier communities everywhere – displaying our sport on the global scene, and this reimaging will bring this presentation to a completely new level.”
One of the criticisms that we fans have had from Arthur Ase Stadium is that it was simply built very large for tennis. Fans at the top of ASHE are sometimes headed to see rallies on the giant video screen as the ball may look as big as a TIC TAC in the naked eye from above.
While renewal is likely not to bring fans of the upper deck in action, the 2,000 new places in Ball Courtside that US Open will safely install millions of income over the course of the now 15-day tournament. Remember, Usta announced that it will be a first start Sunday for 2025 US Open, which represents another new stream of income. On the rolling side, given that the USTA YES Self-Financing of the project, you can argue that they have to generate more income from somewhere to cover the cost of $ 800 million.
The question remains: when it comes to tennis is greater necessarily better?
Is it good for sports and fans to see tennis in a country nearly 30,000 seats or is it so wide that the division between the athlete and the audience?
The answer, in this case, is the lower and luxurious lower boxes you can create, the more money you can generate from the ATM tennis machine that is the US open. Remember, they have already understood how to work for a third week in what was a large two-week mixed move in Fan week.
