Ben Shelton continues to give big performances on stage at the largest stages of the sport.
On Tuesday evening the American issued No.8 Alex de Minaur 6-3, 6-4 to become the youngest American who reached a master’s semi-final since Andy Roddick in 2005.

22-year-old Shelton will face compatriot Taylor Fritz in an all-American battle on Wednesday evening after he offers for his first masters final.
It will be the first All-American semifinal at a Master 1000 event after Mardy Fish defeated Andy Roddick in Cincinnati in 2010.
Shelton entered Tuesday’s clash with a 0-3 record in the Masters quarter-final, but he was prevalent from start to finish against De Mineur while hitting 22 winners against the 23 forced errors and won a greater proportion of the starting points.
Shelton saved one of the two points of rest and converted three vacation to catch the winning belt of the seven Aussie matches. He also won his first 10 of the season, after losing each of his first five against the top-10 of this year.
