Osleys Iglesias today revealed on X that he will fight on September 4 on September 4 in an IBF Super Middleeight title Eliminator for the compulsory Challenger place to face the champion Canelo Alvarez. #3 IBF Iglesias (13-0, 12 COs) did not mention who his opponent will be, but he was reportedly in conversation with Face 2 IBF Vladimir Shishkin.
Avoid back: Iglesias fighting
The Cuban Iglesias last fought in November and beat Petro Ivanov in the fifth round. That was the big hit in Southpaw Iglesias’ fourth knockout in 2024. He likes to stay active in his career, but he says he was avoided in 2025. That’s why he was on the shelf.
If Iglesias becomes the IBF -sheltered challenger to Canelo’s belt, it is probably not that he will have the chance to fight against the Mexican superstar. He may be frozen by him forever. Predictably, Iglesias will eventually be increased to the IBF Super Middeeight Champion status as Canelo prefer to bypass him to take money fights that the Saudi wants for him.
Iglesias’s ibf eliminator awaits
“On September 4, I return to the Ring for the IBF title -Liminator and compulsory challenger for Canelo. It was not my fault for the guard; in this section they avoid me a lot and then think that they are the best 😏. I’m going out all; the tornado is back,” Osleys Iglesias said X today.
It is a pity that one of the more well-known Super Middle Weight contenders such as Diego Pacheco, Caleb Plant, Edgar Berlanga or Christian Mbilli does not fight Osleys for the IBF title elimination of 168 pounds on September 4. To beat one of the fighters, Iglesias’ name would put on the map and help him get more opportunities.
As amateur, Iglesias defeated David Morrell and fought a two -time Olympic Cuban gold medal, Arlen Lopez, four times, and Israil Madrimov twice. Since becoming a pro in 2019, Osleys have been quickly moved by his promoters.
Iglesias’ last four battles
– Petro Ivanov: TKO 5
– SENA HEADSET: TKO 2
– Evgeny ShVedenko: KO 1
– Marcelo Coceres: KO 1
Coceres is the same man who dropped Edgar Berlanga and gave him a lot of problems. He was also a difficult time for Diego Pacheco and Billy Joe Saunders.
