Tyson Fury wants trilogy rematch with Usyk after December 21

Tyson Fury is already talking about a trilogy against Oleksandr Usyk after their rematch on December 21.

Fury feels he will prevail in the second fight with WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight champion Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) in Riyadh. Rather than move on and face someone else, such as Martin Bakole, Daniel Dubois or Anthony Joshua, Fury wants a trilogy with Usyk.

It’s hard to know if Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) is serious about the trilogy, as His Excellency Turki Alalshikh wants to see him and Joshua fight in 2025. This is the fight he and the fans want to see.

Even if Fury beats Usyk in their December 21 rematch, fans will want to see him face Joshua or someone else to keep things fresh. However, the reality is that Fury will likely lose to Usyk, and have nothing to do with a trilogy match after that.

Fury would look like a glutton for punishment if he stubbornly chose to fight Usyk a third time after being beaten a second time. He might be able to justify the trilogy by saying that he deserved the win, and that’s what he did this time. He still feels he won the previous fight against Usyk on May 18. Fury will look like a pathetic sore loser if he chooses to muddy the waters by crying that he should have won, which he did last time.

Many fans believe it was a clear win for Usyk, and they think the three judges who worked the fight scored it much closer than it should have been.

I watched the fight and saw Usyk win 8-4. It wasn’t close at all. The referee stepped in and stopped Usyk from knocking out Fury in the ninth round with his bizarre standing eight count, which changed the outcome of the fight and saved Tyson from being knocked out.

The scores

– 115-112 – Usyk
– 114-113 – Anger
– 114-113 – Usyk

“I would like to have a trilogy fight with Usyk because then it will be 1-1,” Tyson Fury said. Sky Sports News Boxing about what his plans are after he fights Oleksandr Usyk on December 21st. “I do the exact same thing, but don’t get a standing eight count in round nine, and I win comfortably.
