Lair Donova is launching gold in Birmingham on Sunday
Tri Donovan won one of the best races of 20255 in the British Athletics, when he added 400 m to the Chalmer of Alastayr 400 m.
The 26-year-old has made great progress this year and won the 400 m obstacle race last month in the London Diamond League.
Here in Birmingham, he was standing at a steady pace to the back of the wind, protecting chalmers and Seamus Derbyshire from the inside, and Jug Minshal also went well.
When his long legs moved, Donovan enjoyed a great final bent, and that meant that he immediately came home from his appearance and derby and the chalms.

Derbyshire started to fade, and Minshay’s challenge evaporated when he lost his balance from the final obstacle and faced the path. This left Donova with a small leader from the Chalms, despite his efforts, he could not open the gap because he finished two hundredths of the second.
Donovan said:
“Alastair is seasonal, so I always know that he will end strong, so I didn’t know if I would be able to take the victory.”

Tade Ojora has retained its 110 m obstacles, as she had a clock to win Daniel Goriola, winning 13.34, when Sam Bennett was the third – 13.87.

“Last year I didn’t beat the title, so it feels surprising to bring it back,” Ojora said. “And I’m really happy to have it for another year.”
