MAN United has to make more sales than expected due to its failure in the qualification in Europe next season after a disappointing Premier League campaign and the failure to win the Europa League. And a player who seems certain to leave Old Trafford permanently is Antony.
Since leaving Real Betis in January, Antony has turned his fortunes. He has prospered in Seville, and another goal on Friday 1-1 against Valencia brought him to 13 goal contributions for the league side (eight goals, five assists). And there could be more than Chelsea will face the UEFA Conference League final on Wednesday.
It is no secret that Betis wants to keep Antony in Benito Villamarin, either through another loan or a permanent agreement. But interest is still growing At Brazilian services, and this is nice for Man United.
Atlético Madrid joins Real Betis to show Antony’s interest
According to the independent (via Football Spain), Atletico Madrid also wants to sign Antony this summer and the fact that they could spend more than Betis would make a more likely agreement for Diego Simeone.
MAN United hopes to contribute at least 40 million pounds when selling Antony, which would represent a great loss compared to the one spent on signing it from Ajax. But right now, the important thing for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and CO is to provide funds by any possible means.
It remains to see where Antony ends when the summer transfer window ends. Being in the league is a real possibility, but first, Betis or Athletic will have to fulfill the price requested by Man United.
