Irfan Pathanthey defeated Southern Spartansthe captain Suresh Rainaby 7 wickets in a high-scoring final. The victory was largely driven by a brilliant all-round performance Manan Sharmaplaying a decisive role with both bat and ball.
The Southern Spartans set a tough target
Wanted to bat first, South Spartans set a target of 211 for Mumbai Marines. Opening pair Elephant Mustard and Raina started fast. Mustard’s explosive 78 off 39 balls, including 10 fours and 4 sixes, laid the foundation for a huge total. Raina backed him up well with a quick-fire 51 off just 26 balls that included 9 fours and 1 six. However, the middle order has weakened somewhat as the Mariners’ batsmen have struggled.
Shivam Kumar and Manpreet Gony They were excellent bowlers for Mumbai Marines, with two wickets each in their respective fours. Manan also scored an important goal to keep Spartans’ goal ratio under control. The Marines bowlers maintained their discipline, especially in the death overs, restricting the Spartans to just 210/6 after 20 overs.
Mumbai Marines: First champions
In response, the Mumbai Marines began a targeted pursuit. Jesal Kariabatting aggressively, scoring 75 off 39 balls with 13 fours and a six, the best knock of the tournament. His partnership with Manan, who finished unbeaten on 89* off 42 balls, was the cornerstone of their successful chase. Mana’s brilliant knock consisted of 7 fours and 6 sixes which saw the Marines win by just 19.1 overs. They reached 213/3.
South Spartans’ bowlers could not contain the attack. Abhishek Saku arrives He was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets in his 3 overs Santosh Yadav He managed 1 wicket in his full quota of 4 overs. Despite their best efforts, the Spartans could not stop the onslaught of the Mumbai Marines. Manan was deservedly named Man of the Match for his exceptional all-round contribution. His performance was a key factor in Mumbai Marines’ historic victory. Karia was crowned the top batsman in the tournament with 404 runs Malinda Pushpakumara‘s 12 wickets earned him the title of best bowler. Mumbai Marines’ victory in the final was the perfect end to a remarkable tournament.
