Turki Alalshikh informed Shakur Stevenson what he was dealing with on Saturday, July 12, against pressure fighter William Zepeda, in a rematch that would look like the fight was going on.
No escape for Shakur
Turki discusses how Zepeda (33-0, 27 COs) cut off the ring and forced his opponents to exchange with him. He gets better to cut off the ring, learn the movements and capture his prey like a cat catching a mouse. Shakur (23-0, 11 food) is a pure runner without the power, hand speed or toughness to fight a struggle with a fighter from Zepeda’s caliber.
With the ring size reduced to the event to 18 x 18 on Saturday, it will make Shakur’s work even more difficult. He will not have as much room to flee Zepeda, or to use his clinical tactics, which is Shakur’s last line of defense, will not work. Zepeda had two fights against an expert clinician, Tevin Farmer, to prepare for the interest Stevenson will do if he is captured against the ropes.
Shakur boasted about how he would administer a ‘beatdown’ by Zepeda on July 12, but these are just empty words to hide his fear. Inside, Stevenson is pure jelly, tense and thinks, ‘What am I going to do? How can I escape this Mexican tornado? ‘
A loss of Zepeda can make Shakur persona non grata At Turki’s Riyadh season meetings. The only way he can get out of battle without his stock falling into the defeat is if he stands like a soldier in the middle of the ring, fights against Zepeda and swings like the Mexican talent’s previous victims.
As Stevenson fights like Farmer, he held his ground and took the heavy shots for 12 rounds, he would still have his dignity in the defeat and could still be welcome at future Turki events.
Crowds demand action
The absolutely worst thing Shakur can do is run 12 rounds around the ring, and show his yellow line as in his fight against Edwin de Los Santos. The crowd in New York will not meet the kind of fighting without farming Shakur from Louis Armstrong Stadium.
See you Saturday https://t.co/dlmvpusurs
