The Turkish Alalshikh named the featherweight contender Bruce Carrington as one of the brand ambassadors for the ring.
This is a questionable step because many fans consider Carrington as a classic example of a hype -work who fought against strictly poor opposition to build his record of 15-0. As long as Carrington does not fight nobody, he will be good at the ambassador role.
However, if he is linked to any of the murderers at 126, he will fall apart. For a second, I would not think of using Carrington as a brand ambassador unless I was willing to fit him against tomato can as long as he was in the role. It would be a disaster if Carrington would fight someone with talent like Rafael Espinoza.
The segawa fight
In addition, many people thought Carrington had lost his battle Sulaiman Segawa Last September. He won a 10-round split decision, but it seemed like he had lost with a wide margin. I had it 9-1 in Segawa’s favor. He dominated Carrington and took him to school.
Since that fight, Carrington has been drawn backwards by the top rank, linked to some mediocre fighters, and he has looked like 24k gold. He is a destroyer if he is carefully matched.
He will shine at lower -level fighters, but it would be a terrible idea for Turki to throw Carrington with a killer at featherweight. He will end like heavyweight Jared Anderson when he was blown by Martin Bakole in five rounds when he fought in a Riyadh season in August last year.
The perception is that the top rank protects him in their game to prevent him from being repeatedly beaten and exposed. In other words, he receives the Edgar Berlanga and Keyshawn Davis treatment.
As a brand ambassador for the ring, Carrington is ideal for working in terms of its ability to talk. He will do a good job in that function if they want him to keep lectures. But if he challenges one of the featherweight champions such as Rafael Espinoza, Stephen Fulton or Nick Ball, he will probably lose bad. He wants Fulton, which is not a big puncher.
Carrington takes a lot of criticism for not calling out Espinoza WBO champion, because he is number 1 for his belt. It makes him look afraid, which is understandable. Espinoza would expose Carrington worse than Segawa did.
I am proud to welcome Bruce Carrington as our brand ambassador. He represents everything we admire in the sport – talent, focus and class. pic.twitter.com/vm4s3pncw5
