Tim Tszyu will return to Joey Spencer in April after a disastrous 2024. This battle is supposed to prepare Tszyu, 30, for a possible clash against Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman this year, provided they both win their fights.
Thurman, 36, stands out in a Comeback on March 12 in Sydney, Australia, in Brock Jarvis in a comeback after three years.
Tszyu’s last chance?
@Dailyelegraph reports that Tszyu will fight Spencer (19-1, 11 COs) in April. Normally it would be seen as a gimme for Tim, but after the way he looked last year, it is impossible to predict how this battle will turn out for him.
It’s not that Tszyu is shot; Instead, he was repeatedly exposed in his last two fights, because not the man who some box fans thought he was. Before losing his last two fights, Tszyu’s best career victories came against these fighters:
– Brian Mendoza
– Carlos Ocampo
– Tony Harrison
– Steve Spark
– Terrel Gausha
– Dennis Hogan
– Jeff Horn
Former WBO junior middleweight champion Tszyu (24-2, 17 CO’s) is in a must-win situation after leading 0-2 last year with a third round to IBF 154-Pond Champion Bakhram Murtazalev and ‘ N 12 Round Split decision defeat against Sebastian Fundora.
Spencer, 24, was rejected by the WBO as an option for the 154-pound champion Fundora to defend by next because he was not arranged in the top 15. The native of Michigan, Spencer, has never beaten a significant fighters during his seven -year -old professional career. All 19 his wins came against an obscure two -part opposition.
Will Tim’s Ken stop?
When Spencer acted to the world class, he was knocked out by Jesus Ramos on March 25, 2023. He was completely dominated against Ramos and was dominated until he was stopped in the seventh round.
Tszyu should have little trouble beating Spencer, but we don’t know how badly his knockout against Murtazaliev affected him. He was dropped four times before the competition was stopped. If Tim’s punching resistance has diminished, he will not do well against Spencer because he has a little doll in his push.
