You’ve all been told that, but it doesn’t work for everyone. It can add a lot of loft at impact, create a lot of spin and make your contact a little too low on the clubface – a huge yard stealer.
Try this. Pick up the ball as normal, then place the two tips directly in front of and on your target line as you see here. The purpose? You guessed it – hit the ball while swinging the club through the other two spikes. If you try to hit the ball too high, you will definitely miss the ball further.

Use the look created by the two extra tees to keep your driver a little lower to the ground through the impact, but also on the line you need to drive. By gripping the ball and the other two tips, you’ll successfully lift the club a bit and stay more in the fairway – a boon for anyone looking for a few extra yards. If you start catching the ball more in the center of your face, you’ll know this exercise is for you.
