On Tuesday, the company announced plans to host the next edition of the Cup of Bridges and also a Summit of the best GOLF teachers at the iconic Scottish resort, which has hosted four Open Championships in addition to a Women’s Open, Senior Open, British Amateur and Walker Cup.
The Bridges Cup was created in 2022 as a celebration of competition and friendship at the amateur level of the game. The match event features two 12-player amateur teams – an American team against an international team – over three days of four-ball, four-ball and singles play. Each team is hand-picked by its captains and consists of top-level amateur players with outstanding resumes. Previous editions of the Bridges Cup have been played on courses in South Korea Hasley (2024) and Nine bridges (2022) and Les Bordes in France (2023). The United States team has emerged victorious in all three editions.
The fourth round of the Bridges Cup will take place on Trump Turnberry’s Ailsa course and King Robert the Bruce Course.

“When the Bridges Cup was established, there was an immediate excitement about showcasing elite intermediate amateur players who truly represent the game,” 8AM Golf CEO and President Hoyt McGarity said in a release. “These are very accomplished players, but they’re also the people you play with at big clubs around the world. That connection is what makes the competition special. We’ve been lucky enough to visit incredible places in South Korea and France, and we’re truly grateful to now be bringing the Bridges Cup to such an iconic venue as Trump Turnberry.”
In addition to the Bridges Cup, Turnberry will also host a venue for a GOLF Head Teachers Summit, expanding on the annual US-based event that was recently held in Cabot Citrus Farms every December. The Head Teacher Summit in Turnberry will complement the December meeting, providing an additional opportunity for qualified teaching professionals from around the world to gather in Scotland and learn and exchange ideas with some of the industry’s best teachers.
“Our Top Teacher Summits have continued to grow, especially during the current boom in the game,” GOLF CEO Jason Adel said in the release. “We are proud to work with so many outstanding teaching professionals and help share their knowledge with golfers everywhere. Summit’s expansion into Scotland is a natural extension of this work. Trump Turnberry offers outstanding amenities and facilities, including a world-class golf academy, and gives our instructors an incredible place to connect with experts and their students.”
Dates for both events will be announced soon.
