It is no secret Victor Hovland has been becoming the edge of the Superstar from during its last seasons in PGA Tour. With a victory in Valsspar championship And a third place finish at US Open, he has shown moments of greatness-but many golf fans would agree that he has not yet hit his ceiling.
But that may be ready to change.
In a video now deleted by Europe’s social media team, Hovland was caught talking to teammate Shane Lowry, running for his game and the work he had put in front of Friday’s first round matches.
“That was a good one in the range. I didn’t have such a session in two years,” Hovland Irishman told, whose face was lit like a Christmas tree in the news.
While Hovland did not give all the details, the footage of his Monday session (below) can provide an important appearance in what is clicking on the seven times the PGA Tour Champion. Key? A simple training aid created by George Gankas, a Top 100 Golf teacher.

“When I built GBOX, I was doing it so that a player finishes their turn. Which creates more speed, the best point low and the ability to turn back the ball with a proper pivot,” he says.
The result? More face control, which means better starting lines.
How Gbox works
Using the device is simple – just the belt on the velcro strap and start shaking. But to really unlock its benefits, you need to understand how it works. To get a clearer picture of Gbox in action, I reached the Golf Top 100 teacher Joe Plecker for his penetration.
“This device, from what I can see is what we will call negative reactions,” Plecker says.
Basically, he says, you are trying to swing without hitting anything. If you hit the box, you know you are slipping into old habits and swing patterns. Progress comes when you can constantly avoid the box.
So how does it help this hovland or even player players like you?
Plecker explains that with GBOX trapped in your trail hip, you get immediate feedback on your club shaft position throughout the shake. If you can swing without hitting the box, you are rotating properly and holding the shaft above your trail forearm plane.
But if you make contact with the box, this is a red flag: your club axis is likely to have fallen far underneath it, often the result of improper rotation. In most cases, it is a sign that you got the club too far inside.
And from what Hovland is saying in the clip above, it is safe to assume that this is what he was working on during his session.
“I just feel like everything should be out,” Hovland says.
Plecker says that when the hovland rotates properly and holds its axis on its trail forearm plane, it is able to minimize the variability of the club that usually causes a two -sided miss. While the Hovland version for a two -sided miss is much less extreme than the average amateur, the ability to offer a square club in the Impact makes its shape the most predictable shot. This is especially valuable in a Ryder Cup environment, where accuracy and pressure control are everything.
Improved rotation also increases the hovland sequences, allowing it to use the ground forces effectively and release that energy more efficiently. The result is added to the speed without increased effort – a great advantage when navigating the long Black and dense Bethpage appearance, punishing roughly.
