Toulon Small Batch Pittsburgh Putter commemorates Johnny Miller’s victory in Oakmont in 1973.
US Open Week is my favorite golf week. The masters week is a narrow second, but I prefer the US to open.
If I am honest, the reason is one of shadenfreude (The German term meaning “someone’s pleasure out of another person’s misfortune”).
Conditions in an open sh.ba are extremely brutal and I get a module of joy from watching the best players in the world, surrendering their lunch with glass greens and rough punitives.
The challenge must be as severe that the winner has really achieved greatness by climbing the corpses of his competitors.
US Open reads as a novel Conan but with a higher body number.
Sunday Miller’s great conclusion
Toulon Small Batch Pittsburgh was inspired by Putter Bullseye Johnny Miller used in his spectacular Sunday round in Oakmont to win the 1973 US Open.
Miller started the sixth round of shooting after leaders on Sunday. He came out of the gate on fire with four straight birds. By the end of the day, he had charged a 63 and was raising the trophy.
Shots One 63 on a Sunday of the US Open is a very impossible feat, similar to catching Oakmont squirrel with a lasso made by the rainbow.

Bullseye of Modern Day
Toulon Small Batch Pittsburgh is not identical to Putter Miller. It is an up -to -date version of that winning tournament of the Bullseye Putter tournament. Toulon had to modernize the model to make it more functional in the modern golf course, where the greens are much faster than they were in the 1970s.
USGA did not approve the use of stimulation until around 1978, but it is generally thought that green speed would have stimmeter readings below 10 during that decade.
This week at Oakmont, stimulation is expected to reach 15.
Toulon wanted to maintain the overall shape of Miller’s putter, but wanted to increase the weight to make it more movable in faster greens. To do this, they sent down the bull and added 60 grams of tungsten.
This is very tungsten.
Hollowing from Putter’s body also allowed Toulon to position more weight towards heel and toe. This raised Pittsburgh Moi and would not be possible in a solid solid bronze from 1973.

Since the Oakmont CC is just out of Pittsburgh, the Toulon finished their small group of Steel -style Pittsburgh. The yellow elements complement the black putter’s body.
Steler Nation would be proud to shake Toulon Pittsburgh over their heads in games, though this is likely to be forbidden.
Although I have no confirmation of this, it seems that the Toulon Small Batch Pittsburgh can be used by right and left players. Or a golf player can alternate between right and left, I think.

By next Sunday, we will have heard from many players how difficult it was to play Oakmont CC. They will blame their poor results in the greens being very fast, rough are too long or squirrels aggressively stealing their balls.
Despite all this, one will freeze the trophy. Maybe they would have shot one Sunday 63 like Miller or maybe two on Sunday were enough.
In US Open, greatness is gained and I can’t wait to watch it happen.
