Tottenham close out a forgettable 2024 at home this weekend as Wolves make the trip to N17.
Ange Postecoglou was once heralded as the man capable of reviving the heights of the Mauricio Pochettino era in north London, but many are beginning to question whether the Australian is capable of leading a sustainable Premier League project.
Spurs’ squad has been decimated for much of their tenure, but fans are struggling to put up with their team’s current position regardless of injuries. Tottenham they are 11th in the Premier League table after losing to high-flying Nottingham Forest on Christmas Day.
While Wolves are 17th and eight points adrift, the mood in Vitor Pereira’s camp is certainly brighter. The new Molineux manager has enjoyed the best possible opening to his tenure at Wolves, with the West Midlanders making it two wins from two since the Portuguese manager replaced Gary O’Neil.

Djed Spence was sent off late on at his old ground, meaning he is suspended for the visit of Wolves. Pedro Porro will return to the eleven on Sunday after dropping to the bench on Christmas Day.
The spurs have more problems in the center with Radu Dragusin picking up a knock that makes him doubtful for the weekend game. Ben Davies suffered a setback in training but left no senior centre-back to partner 18-year-old Archie Gray. With Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven still absent, defensive midfielder Yves Bissouma could be forced into the backline as an emergency substitute.
Richarlison could return to action soon but is not yet ready to feature, while Mikey Moore has recovered from illness and could be involved on Sunday.

Boubacar Traoré is closing in on a return from a knee injury, but that comeback is likely to come next month.
Wolves have a number of players out with long-term injuries, including Sasa Kalajdzic, Yerson Mosquera and Enso Gonzalez. The unfortunate Kalajdzic is on the way back having barely played since arriving on British shores.

A fresh voice has galvanized a Wolves side that is certainly not devoid of talent, although triumphs over a porous Leicester and a vulnerable United means we shouldn’t be heralding Pereira as a messiah just yet.
Despite Spurs’ recent problems, there’s no denying that this is a tougher test. Although the Lilywhites were stuck in the mud on Christmas Day, they usually give a lot more effort in N17 and everyone will be aware of how important this game is. The fan base will really start spinning if the wolves escape with a result.
Spurs’ desperation may help them to victory, but expect a lot of chaos. Wolves have a knack for hurting their exhausted hosts.
