TottenhamThe defense has been ravaged by injuries this season and Destiny Udogie is the latest concern after being withdrawn in the first half of the weekend win at St Mary’s Stadium. However, Postecoglou has confirmed that the Italian has a chance to feature on Thursday night.

With Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Ben Davies and Cristian Romero all currently sidelined, Postecoglou could use some positive news on Udogie, with options running out in the backline.

Above the pitch, Rodrigo Bentancur remains missing due to suspensionwhile Richarlison, Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert are unavailable as the Spurs squad gets further stretched.

Tottenham predicted line-up against Man Utd (4-2-3-1): Forster; Leek, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Bissouma, Sarr; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Solanke.

Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were notable omissions from the matchday squad against Man City and the former has been on since. admitted his desire for a “new challenge” as he approaches an exit in the January transfer window. With Man Utd also investigating dressing room ‘leaks’it will be interesting to see if either turn up in North London.

Both Mason Mount and Noussair Mazraoui were substituted against Man City due to fitness issues, with the England midfielder guaranteed to miss Thursday. Mazraoui will be assessed closer to kick-off.

Luke Shaw is also out with a hamstring injury, but veteran defender Jonny Evans could return on the wing after being absent since Amorim’s first game in charge.

Man Utd’s predicted line-up against Tottenham (3-4-2-1): Onana; Yoro, Maguire, Martinez; Dalot, Mainoo, Ugarte, Malacia; Amad, Fernandes; Hojlund.

Both sides have been predictably unpredictable in recent weeks and neither will be fully confident despite impressive wins at the weekend. Man UtdSure, they lost 3-0 at home to Spurs earlier this season, but admittedly that was under a different regime.

Spurs tend to save their best for the so-called ‘big teams’ and have shown their ability to be absolutely brilliant when they sing. Their attacking play can be unstoppable when the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison and Son Heung-min intertwine seamlessly, as evidenced by the 5-0 demolition of Southampton.

That attacking firepower may prove the difference between the two teams, with Tottenham’s burning desire for a trophy of any description perhaps pushing them past a Man Utd side still finding their feet under Amorim.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Man Utd
