Torak Razgatlioglu is forced into a change that doesn’t require another Yamaha rider due to MotoGP ‘restrictions’.


Pramac rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu and his fellow Yamaha riders are now joined by the rest of the 2026 MotoGP grid for the first pre-season of the year in Sepang.

Razgatlioglu and his companion Yamaha Stable riders enjoyed three more days of official shakedown testing last week with the Japanese team’s new V4-engined YZR-M1 at the Sepang International Circuit. Competitors are only allowed to test novices and riders on the field.

Yamaha are allowed to use their full-time riders in the Sepang shakedown test as they are the only manufacturer in contract level D going into 2026. But for the 2026 pre-season, the first full test will now take place in Malaysia from February 3-5.

Yamaha removed Torak Razgatlioglu’s rear wing to avoid breaching MotoGP regulations.

In the final year of the 1,000cc regulations, Yamaha upgraded their aero package when they switched from using an inline-four engine to a V4. The Iwata natives seem to have taken a lot of influence from Ducati’s box-shaped front aero, ditching their three-tiered wing.
