Jermall Charlo returns to the ring
Jermall Charlo will come from a long dismissal to resist Thomas Lamanna in a 10-round main support at the Super Middleweight. There is a lot of interest in boxing fans to see how the former World Champion of two divisions will perform Charlo (33-0, 22 COs). Between 2008 and 2021 he was one of the best fighters in the sport. Jermall was seen as the better of the Charlo brothers.
In Charlo’s last battle two years ago against Jose Banavidez Jr., he seemed to have lost some of his skills due to 2+ years of inactivity. However, Jermall looks more spiritual and physically alive for tonight’s fight against Lamanna.
When Jermall was still active, he was a much better talent than Caleb and would probably destroy him without too many problems. The question is: Has Charlo lost too much from his game for him to defeat his set opponent, Lamanna (39-5-1, 18 COs) and plant? If Charlo can revive its former self, Lamanna won’t get past the fourth round
Jermall, 35, said this week that he thinks Caleb plant is “looking old” and was surprised to learn that he is three years older than the Tennessee native. Charlo did not give a real age he viewed to the plant, but it is fair to say that he sees him about 38 or 39. Many fans will agree with that.
