Main event Preview: Navarrete vs. Suarez
Given Suarez’s poor resume, there wasn’t much buzz for Navarrete’s fight tonight. Fans are not familiar with Suarez because he did not beat any significant opposition during his six-year-old pro career. He is not young at 36 to have such a barren resume. On paper, Suarez is easily the worst contender on which Navarrete will defend his title since he moved in

Fans would have chose to Navarrete against one of the talented and younger contenders rather than milk its title with another weak opponent. In the last battle of Navarrete, he fought an unnecessary re -broadcast against Oscar Valdez in December last year after excluding himself in a one -sided 12 round decision in 2023.
Co-chief event: Muratalla vs. Abdalaev
People look most interested in the fight of this card, the most important support bolt between lightweight contender Raymond Muratalla (22-0, 17 COs) and Zaur Abdullaev (20-1, 12 COs). They will fight for the vacant IBF-entitled title of 135 pounds. Muratalla benefited from winning the collision and then possibly increasing to the full IBF lightweight champion status if Vasily Lomachenko does not return from his absence leave to defend against him.
It is understandable why Navarrete, 30, chose to keep the 130-pound WBO title rather than entering the other belts at Super Featherweight. The World Boxing Organization’s contenders ranking is one of the worst of the four sanction bodies.
The WBO ranking appears upside down, with the defeatable, soft contenders at the top and the talented, dangerous below. It is an ideal situation for a lack of champion like Navarrete to keep his title longer than he would usually do. The WBO arranged Raymond Ford #7 and Eduardo ‘Sugar’ Nunez Rated #9. The two are Navarrete’s biggest threats to his reign, but for some reason they are arranged by the WBO layer.
