Ball-Doheny is a peculiar game that faces the unbeaten ball (21-0-1, 12 COs) with an older man with a knockout loss.
Fans have mocked the decision to use 38-year-old Doheny (26-5, 20 COs), but the promoters for this event count on the older fans who want to see the match for nostalgia. You can just go so far as to attract fans by choosing old veterans.
It does not work forever without losing fans, nor does it do anything to develop the younger fighters.
