Tokyo 2025 Preview, # 14. Sydney McLuke-Lron

Sydney Mclaughlin-Levrone is one of the most exciting athletes in the global stage. No one who was 2021 or Eugene 2022 or Paris 2024, and I would be privileged to see his breaking in 400m barriers. He is a huge talent. However, he is essential. In 2024, Sydney passed 15 times with a 400-stealing friend on Femke Bol. Sydney has been selected for Tokyo 400 apartments. He recently answered some relevant questions.

Why is Tokyo 400 apartments?

Sydney. That’s it Definitely a very competitive event. Paulino and Nasks are both amazing 400 runners, and I think it’s part of my excitement. Being able to walk an arena that is competitive and try to see where I wish the best. I am excited for the challenge. I’m excited for a very fast race, I hope all of us from three and just want to put my best efforts there and show what I can do in front of me.

What will you offer in 2028?

Sydney. I don’t know I can still talk for 2028. I think I need to get to it first and give a season at a time. I mean 400 obstacles, 400 are so different in such different ways, but I think it will be a decision that we are closer to. There are still more that I would like to achieve in obstacles. It’s a funny thing about the track and the field is that There is always something you can do better. Frankly, I think I like to challenge myself in different ways. I have loved the idea of fighting different events, challenging myself, pushing myself, seeing I can be the best, good round athlete, I can hang my spots. And so this was a great challenge, a huge enterprise. And I learned so much about 400, about how it is very different from obstacles, but I love it every second, and I think it’s a challenge to throw me.

What are your memories of Tokyo 2021?

Sydney. Of course, it was a very special moment. I think the peak of children’s dreams was amazing. And when Sovim was trapped inside so many people inside, I think the Olympic Games that could still happen to return to our dreams. And so I definitely think it was a special moment and I am very excited to return. I love the stadium, I love the way. I loved every time I visited Tokyo. So, yes, I don’t think it’s a special memory in my heart, and I’m sure I can watch the homeland in 2021.

Do you think that the 1977 record of “Mariatha Koch” is 47,60?

Sydney. Of course, this is definitely a long-term Sprint record. A very quick time. And I think that during the last few years the performances we have set to create appetite records when I walk on the track. Everyone becomes faster, which is wonderful, and I think we all motivate each other to really run times you don’t know, and we haven’t seen before. I think in time, if you have the right athlete, in the right circumstances and everything is going right. Yes But I think it’s a very hard time to run. But I think we have to work on taking a 48 seconds before we can talk about 47.6.

How do you keep the momentum in such a long season?

Sydney. It is definitely a longer season, definitely it can definitely feel exhaustive and terrible if you don’t catch well. It has had its own stealing and competitive and training flows, and being a little later with the championships, it is definitely more prolonged. But I think we’re just doing a good job knowing when to take breaks. My coach makes a great job of training and to control its thinking.

You can explain the difference between 400 obstacles and the difference between 400 apartments.

Sydney. Yes, I think the largest is 400 obstacles, a cadan race, though you feel like you feel very fast, and you don’t know where you are. You can make a lot more steps or make much less steps, and time will tell it. So it’s the biggest thing you don’t know that you can’t have such a cadence in 400 because you’re in obstacles because you have to be ready to be ready to be ready. And I think it’s teaching me just to attack the race, what is it and learn where I’m on the needs of the checkpoints without me. It’s a good learning curve for me because obstacles have been my profession so long. 400 apartments are definitely harming more. You run faster, so there is definitely more cottage cheese.

When you have played smaller? Do you still play?

Sydney. No, I’m not playing anymore, just because I can’t be jeopardized. I would love, but every time I see a football ball, I hear my coach’s voice in my head and walk away. But I think that if there was another sport, I could do professionally, it would probably be football, just because it still has the run. I played right wing when I loved to be able to spread the field with a ball and cross someone.

Who are the athletes, you will be excited to watch it in Tokyo?

Sydney. A great question. Two are in mind. Masai Russell 100m obstacles. And, of course, faith in Cipego. What MASAI does in short obstacles is simply unrealistic and it’s so followed in 12 days, I’m just so excited to see that he can do in the competition. And faith is surprising, every time he walks on the track, he is unreal.

Sydney was talking to a group of international journalists.
