Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney share the stacked May 2 ‘Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ map at Times Square in New York. Garcia fights against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in the head liner. Rolly remains happy. If his career seems to be over, he still gets opportunities for big battles. It’s like a Second chance For Rolly.
Haney (31-0, 15 COs) faces the walking Guillotine Jose Ramirez (29-2, 18 COs) in a fight that fans on social media believe should be the most important event in terms of competitiveness on paper. If Devin did the fanbase Garcia, he would be the best man on this card. How Haney was passed by Kingry last April in April would still make it strange to have him as the most important event.
The ‘fatal anger’ card
– Ryan Garcia vs. Rolando Romero: Headliner
-Devin Haney vs. Jose Carlos Ramirez: Co-Feature
– Teófimo López vs. Arnold Barboza
Theofimo Lopez (21-1, 13 costs), WBO Light Welterweight, finds himself from the main event and fights against his compulsory Barboza (32-0, 11 COs). Talk about your big coming off. Lopez’s repeated poor performances since 2021 have led him to be placed on the bottom map of Garcia-Romero. It will get worse for Theofimo if he loses all three fights on his contract with Turki Alalshikh.
TEO’s avoidance
I wonder how Teo feels about the fight against Barboza because it is a man he has avoided like the pest over the past three years. He had never wanted to fight against Barboza, but now he has no other choice. It can end badly for theofimo. Barboza will make a monkey out of him if he has not improved since his fight against Steve Claggett.
‘In New York we are working on it with Golden Boy. So we will be there next week for the press conference, ”said Eddie Hearn, a match room promoter Boxing sociall over the May 2 meeting on Times Square. ‘You have three of the Top 140, 147 pounds of guys, whatever you want to mention.
“You’re talking about having an appeal to that younger generation. Haney, Lopez, Ryan Garcia, this is an incredible event, and there is a great deal of work to do the event. They conclude Times Square for this. This has never been done before. This will probably never be done again.
“I look forward to coming out. No. It’s just three fights on the map, ”Hearn said when asked if he would have one of his fighters on the Times Square card. ‘Logistically we are involved in the ring (Turki Alalshikh) and all. So, yes, no fighters for us on the map. “
