Tim Tszyu says he has to ‘rewrite history’ when challenging Sebastian Fundora for his WBC Junior Middligt title in their re -broadcast on July 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Tszyu-Fundora Rematch Preview
Former WBO champion Tszyu (25-2, 18 COs) of 154 pounds will have a chance for salvation after losing his title to Fundora last March. Tim’s record is 1-2 in his last three fights.
Fundora (22-1, 14 COs) seems to be handling tszyu pretty well. Tim blames his loss on the fact that he did not have a full camp of 10 weeks and had a cut in the second round of battle. Boxing fans see Tszyu’s shotgun approached with excuses as an example of a fighter who cannot acknowledge the truth. He just wasn’t good enough.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity. This is something I need to rewrite history. I am very blessed to be back in this opportunity, ‘said Tim Tszyu Fighting type on his re -broadcast with the WBC Junior Middle Weight Champion Sebastian Fundora on July 19.
Tszyu gets the re-broadcast with Fundora, despite losing two of his last three fights and in two years did not beat a top-15 contender. It is more a fight on the business level than a sporty one because Tszyu does not earn a re -broadcast with Fundora.
Choosing Fundora Rematch
“Once the fight has ended (against Joey Spencer), I said, ‘I want to go straight into the fire and go into salvation again. “That meant he fought against Fundora,” Tszyu said of why he chose not to fight against Keith Thurman. He wanted the re -broadcast with Fundora.
It makes sense that Tszyu skips the fight against the old ‘one-time Thurman, because it would have been a no-win situation. Thurman was so inactive, and he is old now. No matter how good Tszyu looked like in that battle, he would not have received credit for victory due to Thurman’s time from the ring and his advanced age.
“It was mixed emotions because of what happened before, you had to go through demons in that fight,” Tszyu told his loss last year to Fundora. “So I go back and revive the demons. But I watch it in a very positive way. ‘
It sounds like Tszyu is still haunted by his loss of Sebastian. I just hope Tim knows what he is doing by going on with the rematch, because if he loses this fight against Fundora, it can be life flashbacks. He can be raised by regret.
He would be one of the types of veterinarians who saw one walk around the block and look gloomy. What Tim should have done is to fight Jorge Garcia Perez first. He is seen as Fundora 2.0 with the long arms and the difficult yields with high volume.
Tszyu’s loss excuses
“What can happen to win this battle is what rises to me every morning. I have a full 10-week preparation against a long fighter instead of just the two scars I had before. What lost me the fight was that I lost my head, and my brain at some point,” Tszyu said of why he lost to Fundora.
Tim’s loss of Fundora had nothing to do with not getting a full camp of 10 weeks for the fight. He fought in the same way he did with Brian Mendoza, Carlos Ocampo and Tony Harrison with his aggressive approach. He tried to fight with aggression against Fundora, and it was undone. Fundora had too much size, youth and punch output for Tszyu to do.
‘From rounds three to seven or eight, I didn’t think of the fight. I returned to my corner. It wasn’t in my head about what I had to adapt, but what was before me, “Tszyu says of his mindset against” The Tower Inferno “Fundora. “I felt like I was in survival mode. by. “
Tim’s fighting memory
It sounds like Tim’s reminder of the fight with Fundora is a little foggy because he did not fight in survival mode. Tszyu continued Sebastian to attack Sebastian as he did, but he could not strike the scope, the strange angles and bumps of the long armed fundora.
The game plan used by Tszyu before the cut was the same as he always used for his battles. Tszyu was on the attack, throwing push with full force, trying to record a quick knockout.
“So, this Fundora Rematch, I’m going to get out and I hope to keep up with what I’m good at and bring out the best in each round and win every round,” Tszyu said.
Tim does not say what he is good at making his rematch different from the previous battle. He took many shots of Sebastian, even early in the fight when he struggled, and nothing changed. He continued to be beaten a lot. The only difference was that he sometimes fought blind, but not all the time.
